How do we engage wisely and kindly with the challenging emotions, mind states, views, opinions churned up in the current political and electoral environment?
Join IMCW guiding teacher Hugh Byrne from June to November for a monthly conversation series that will aim to help us cultivate equanimity and wise engagement in the lead up to the general elections.
Each session will begin with a period of meditation and a twenty-minute reflection from Hugh on a particular theme related to the current political climate, before opening into a discussion and opportunity to share and learn from each other. We encourage participation in all five meetings to help create a feeling of community and continuity—though please feel free to attend fewer sessions if this is what your schedule permits.
For more information about Hugh, check out his blog Mindful Politics and recently published book The Here and Now Habit. We also invite you to check our calendar for other events, including community meditation sits and yoga classes, at the Lamont Dharma House.
